CMP works to get the power back on
GORHAM (WGME) -- CMP crews are working to get everyone's power back on.
The heavy snow has brought down tree limbs and trees onto power lines across the state.
Cumberland and York counties are the hardest hit.
CMP crews are working to restore power on the west side of Gorham.
Families say they lost power around 9 p.m. Wednesday night.
They're among some 17,000 CMP customers in southern Maine who lost power overnight.
But CMP crews are making progress. Fewer than 10,000 customers are currently without power.
The heavy weight of this wet snow is to blame for the outages.
A number of families have fired up their generators while they wait for CMP to restore power.
