Portland yoga studio holds Thanksgiving class for donation
PORTLAND (WGME) -- A yoga studio is hoping to ease your stress on Thanksgiving while making a difference for those in need.
Portland Power Yoga is offering a donation class on Thanksgiving morning.
All donations from the class will go to Wayside Food Programs in Maine, providing food to forty agencies in Cumberland County.
The yoga studio says it's also helpful for people to start off thanksgiving day with some exercise and stress relief.
"A key to successfully navigating the holidays is a mindfulness practice, just like yoga that'll keep you anxiety free. Plus, it's a great workout right before the big meal," says Julie Kiger, owner of Portland Power Yoga.
In addition to the donation class on Thursday, Portland Power Yoga is also collecting gently used yoga mats for a yoga program at Long Creek Youth Development Center.
