Police identify victim in deadly Oxford crash
OXFORD (WGME) -- The Oxford County Sheriff's Office says a 26-year-old man was killed in car crash in Oxford late Thursday night.
Deputies identified the man as Cedric Palmer Jr., of Otisfield.
A second man, 26-year-old Eric Knapik, of Oxford, was airlifted to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with serious injuries.
The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on Route 121.
Deputies say Palmer was driving at a high rate of speed and lost control, causing the Honda Accord to go off the road and hit a utility pole.
Knapik had to be extricated from the car. Palmer was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
