Police arrest ‘heavily intoxicated’ man allegedly carrying rifle in Limington
LIMINGTON (WGME) -- The York County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a Limington home after getting a report about gunfire and fireworks Sunday night.
It happened around 10:40 p.m. on Cape Road.
When deputies arrived, they say they encountered a heavily intoxicated 26-year- old Aaron Preston, of Buxton, carrying a rifle outside.
Deputies ordered Preston to drop it, and he complied.
However, deputies say he refused further orders and continued to walk around in his intoxicated state.
Preston denied having any other weapons on him, but he continued to act in a furtive manner, according to deputies.
Deputies say Preston was eventually tasered and handcuffed.
A Glock pistol and knife were found in his shorts pocket.
Preston was charged with aggravated reckless conduct, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, and refusing to sign a criminal summons.
