Parents of missing Sanford woman issue heartfelt plea for her return
SANFORD (WGME) – The parents of a missing woman in Sanford are pleading for their daughter’s safe return.
40-year-old Kerry Rear disappeared last month.
It was an emotional press conference Tuesday afternoon as the parents of Kerry Rear spoke out, begging their daughter to come home.
Kerry was last seen on January 22 at the Lil’ Mart in Sanford. Police say surveillance video shows her walking to the nearby Lil’ General Store.
Police are now seeking the help of the public on their search.
They are asking anyone who drives through that area to think back if they saw Kerry on the road hitchhiking, walking or getting into a vehicle.
They are also asking people who live in the area to check their out buildings, their sheds or any disabled cars they may have in their yard.
Their hope is that someone with new information will call and provide them with a tip that will lead them to her whereabouts.
Kerry's parents say she was troubled, but would call them almost every day.
They say they believe there was a series of events that piled up, overwhelming Kerry, and that she just couldn't deal with it any more, leading her to become disoriented.
The Rear family is offering a $10,000 reward for Kerry's safe return alive to her family, and a $5,000 reward for any information that would lead to her whereabouts.
