NH students help design wheelchair for blind kitten
PORTSMOUTH (WGME) -- A cat in New Hampshire has a new way to get around, after a group of students designed him a set of wheels for his unique set of challenges.
At only a few months old, Ray is making the best of his nine lives.
Ray was born with abnormally small eyes, leaving him blind, as well as a "kink" in his spine.
While Ray can get around, it's difficult.
Eighth grader Austin Snow and his class were challenged with building a wheelchair for Ray.
It was designed and created on a 3D printer.
"It’s wider and we have these two little pegs to strap him in," Snow said.
It took countless hours to create, and 11 hours to print.
While Ray has already grown out of the two prototype chairs, it's just another obstacle to overcome.
