BRUNSWICK (WGME) -- In addition to the Blue Angels and fighter jets, the Great State of Maine Air Show has some new speed on the runway.

The demographic are people who really enjoy speed. They enjoy excitement. They enjoy loud, fast machines and what’s faster than Lamborghinis and Ferraris,” Eric Nelson, owner, Precision Exotics, said.

“Valid driver’s license, 18-years-old, you hop in the driver’s seat, we'll sit in the right seat, we'll work the radios with the tower make sure it’s clear,” Nelson said.

It's something CBS 13 Lexie O’Connor never thought she’d be doing until Friday.

After a briefing, Lexie hit the runway with a trained professional.

When they were given the go, it was time to put the pedal to the metal.

“A lot of people always say its chance of a lifetime, once in a lifetime. We don't ever like to say that. We like to say chance of a lifetime because once you do it once you will do it again,” Nelson said.

If you'd like to drive one of the high speed cars, it costs $149.

You can purchase tickets and find more information at GreatStateofMaineAirShow.us.
