Modular home pulled from Bridgton Pond
BRIDGTON (WGME) -- A modular home that found itself in a Bridgton pond is now back on the road Wednesday night.
Crews lifted the truck that was carrying the home from Moose Pond in Bridgton. The modular home was removed about an hour before that, and they're still working on removing debris from the water.
Crews have been on scene for hours strapping up the mobile home, pulling it out of the water inch by inch.
Authorities say they received the call around 11 Wednesday morning, they say the driver hit the guard rail before landing in the water. The operator of the truck was the only one involved in the incident and officers say as of now there are no severe injuries.
Bridgton police say they are still investigating how the incident happened but are grateful they could prevent a negative impact on the environment.
Police say this is the first time in at least 30 years a car or truck has driven into this pond. At this time, Route 302 is completely blocked off near Moose Pond.
