Augusta Public Works asks residents for patience as they work to clear roads
AUGUSTA (WGME) – Wet and heavy snow is creating tricky travel conditions for commuters in Augusta.
The Augusta Public Works Department has been very active on Facebook asking its residents for patience.
They’ve got 21 plow routes with limited drivers who have been working 16 hour days. They've even hired local contractors to come in and help.
They also said due to limited budgeting this year the city has a limited salt and sand supply for the road, but they been working with contractors to figure it out.
There was two accidents involving city plow trucks on Monday, thankfully no one was injured.
Parking in the capital will also be an issue Thursday.
