Man dies in crash during Saturday's snow storm in Sanford

SANFORD (WGME) -- Police say a man was killed in a crash during Saturday’s snow storm.

It happened around 4:40 p.m. on Country Club Road, near Channel Lane.

Police say a Honda, driven by 88-year-old Donald Yeskoo, of Wells, lost traction on the snow-covered road and crossed the center line, hitting a Ford pickup truck.

Yeskoo died at the scene.

The passenger of the Honda, 82-year-old Joan Yeskoo, of Wells, suffered internal injuries and was taken to Wentworth Douglas Hospital, according to police.

The driver of the Ford was not hurt. However, police say the passenger in the Ford pickup was taken to Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford for possible injuries.

Police say the crash is still under investigation.
