AUBURN (WGME) – A man is charged after police say they busted up a prostitution operation in Auburn.

Detectives say they uncovered it through the internet.

65-year-old Dean Pascal is behind bars Thursday night. Police say both he and the victim came up here from Pennsylvania, and that sex trafficking operation was being run out of a local hotel.

Police say that Pascal recently started working in the area as a contract employee.

Police wouldn't say where, or which hotel the sex trafficking victim was located.

Detectives said they found the operation through a website called, a website used for adult services and escorts. After interviewing the sex trafficking victim, police say they had probable cause to arrest Pascal.

Pascal is facing a felony charge of aggravated sex trafficking, a charge Auburn police say is reserved for cases where the victim is under age, or coerced.

The trafficking arrest is still under investigation by Auburn police.

Pascal is currently held at Androscoggin County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
