Man allegedly huffs stolen aerosol computer duster, crashes into Biddeford Walmart
BIDDEFORD (WGME) -- Police say a man allegedly huffed stolen aerosol computer duster and crashed his car into the Biddeford Walmart Thursday.
Police say they responded to the store Thursday morning and found that a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe had crashed into a yellow traffic post near the corner of the building at 50 Boulder Way.
The vehicle sustained significant front end damage. Police say the engine compartment was on fire when the officers arrived. The officers used a fire extinguisher in an attempt to extinguish the fire prior to the fire department's arrival.
Police say surveillance video shows the driver, 21-year-old Daniel Spear, passed out behind the wheel and crash at a high rate of speed.
Police say surveillance video also shows 36-year-old Justin Wells inside Walmart where he allegedly stole at least two cans of aerosol computer duster.
Spear is suspected of huffing the stolen cans of aerosol computer duster prior to the crash, according to police.
The men were arrested and taken to the York County Jail.
Police charged Spear with driving to endanger and shoplifting. Wells was charged with shoplifting
Both suspects are currently out of jail. They both have extensive criminal histories, according to police.
