Man accused of defecating on sidewalk in NH

MANCHESTER, NH (WGME) -- Police in Manchester, New Hampshire say a man defecated on a sidewalk in front of a school bus and several businesses Thursday afternoon.

Police say two officers were leaving police headquarters around 2 p.m. when they saw a man a standing on the corner of Valley Street and Maple Street begin to unzip his pants as if he was going to urinate on the sidewalk.

Instead, police say he exposed his genitals and buttocks to passing motorists when he dropped his pants and began defecating in public.

Several businesses are located within 300 feet of where he had soiled the sidewalk, according to police.

Police say a school bus was parked in front of one of the businesses. However, the officers stopped the man before the kids exited the business.

Police arrested 57-year-old Steven Clement, of Manchester, New Hampshire.

Clement was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, public urination or defecation and indecent exposure/lewdness.

Police say the Manchester Department of Public Works responded to the scene to clean up the feces.
