PORTLAND (WGME) – It's a crowded primary season, with seven democrats and four republicans seeking their party's nomination for governor on June 12.

A representative, a senator, a local businessman and the former commissioner of the Department of Health and Human Services make up the four Republican candidates vying to be Maine’s next governor.

They had a lot to say Tuesday night.

The first topic of Tuesday night's debate was Medicaid expansion. All four candidates have gone on record opposing it despite the voter approved referendum.
