Lewiston business owners not concerned after barber shop stabbing
LEWISTON (WGME) – A man is recovering after being stabbed inside a Lewiston barber shop while getting a haircut.
Police say it happened Wednesday night at Major Cuts.
A sign has been posted outside of Major Cuts from management, telling customers they'll be closed until at least Monday and to hold their questions until then.
Police have answered some of our questions. That say last night 23-year-old Michael Barrucci of Otisfield entered the barber shop and begin stabbing 35-year-old Rashad Robinson of South Paris in the stomach and chest while he was getting a haircut.
Robinson staggered out of the barber shop where he collapsed, he was then rushed to the hospital to be treated for his stab wounds.
Police don't believe this was a random act. They say Barrucci is dating Robinson's estranged wife who was in the barber shop at the time of the stabbing.
Some local business owners say while it's disturbing news, it won't affect the way they do business.
"It's something to be aware of but we've always felt really safe here and anytime we have a problem we have a panic button in the salon and the cops will come as soon as they can," Elizabeth Cyr said.
