I-Team investigates contraband in Maine
PORTLAND (WGME) -- The I-Team investigates contraband inside Maine's prisons and jails.
A list obtained by CBS 13 reveals the items most often seized by the Department of Corrections.
Last year, the state forwarded 36 cases to prosecutors for criminal charges, and it's not just prisons.
Sheriffs across the state say they're combatting the problem in jails, too.
Inmates tell CBS 13 contraband is common.
The number one item inmates are smuggling behind bars, how it's getting in and the steps officials are taking to keep all of it out.
The I-Team investigates Monday at 5:30.
