"He pointed a gun on my head" - Lewiston store robbed twice in one week
LEWISTON (WGME) -- The owner of a Lewiston gas station that was robbed twice in one week says he doesn't know what to do next as police try to track down who did it.
Owner S.M. Elias says he just served a customer at USA Gas on Lisbon Street when a man came into his store with a gun.
"One guy from the left side of the store came in with a gun. He walked in right into the register. He pointed a gun on my head. I opened the drawer; he grabbed all the money," Elias said.
Elias said he's concerned about his safety and the safety of his staff.
He said the incident that happened last night around 8:30 cost him hundreds of dollars and left him shaken and scared.
"I felt threatened, it's life threatening now. I don't know how to manage this business," Elias said.
Police said this is the second time the same store was robbed this week.
"Nobody feels comfortable to work at night so I was working alone. No one wants to stay in this store after dark," he said.
Joy Williams was behind the counter when a man came in on Monday with a knife.
"You go into what you need to do, locked the doors, called 911," she said.
A man is seen on video emptying out the register and then taking off.
Lewiston police say they are investigating and believe the same man may be responsible for both armed robberies.
The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, wearing jeans, a black jacket and a mask or bandanna.
"The same person is coming back and back and nothing has been done," Elias said.
He said he's considering closing the store an hour or two earlier until police catch the person responsible.
