GameStop announces online security breach
AUBURN (WGME) -- GameStop has announced that data from payment cards used on their website is being offered for sale on the internet, Auburn police say.
In addition to names and addresses, compromised information may include account numbers, expiration dates, and security codes.
At present, no retail locations are believed to be affected.
Anyone who used a credit or debit card on the GameStop website between Sept. 2016 and early Feb. 2017 is urged to check their statements carefully for any unexplained or unauthorized charges, no matter how small the amount.
Police suggest your report these charges immediately to your bank or credit card company.
