Four Mainers arrested after drug bust at Augusta motel
AUGUSTA (WGME) -- Four people were arrested after the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said they seized a “large amount of heroin” from an Augusta motel room Monday night.
Agents said they seized over 350 grams of heroin, with a street value of more than $70,000, a small amount of crack cocaine, and $3,852 in cash, which is believed to be proceeds from drug sales, inside a room at the Augusta Inn on Edison Drive.
Agents arrested 27-year-old Alex Kanaris, of Sidney, 29-year-old Andrew Redmond, of Augusta, 27-year-old Krystle Clark, of Sidney, and 27-year-old Danielle Violette, of Augusta.
They were all charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and taken to the Kennebec County Jail.
Bail was set at $150,000 Kanaris and $100,000 for Redmond, Clark, and Violette.
