Emergency room in NH evacuated after unknown odor detected
EXETER, N.H. (AP/WGME) -- Authorities say the emergency room at Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire has been evacuated after an unknown odor was detected.
Ambulances responded to the hospital to evaluate more than 20 people.
Calls for assistance were made at about 11:15 am. Friday.
The incident began with five staff members in the operating room and several other patients also began to feel sick a short time later, according to WBZ.
The cause of the odor is being investigated.
Hospital officials told WBZ the response was out of an “abundance of caution.”
No other information was immediately available.
