Dogs rescued from Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria arrive in Maine
PORTLAND (WGME) -- Dozens of dogs rescued from Puerto Rico are now in Maine, and next week they will be ready for adoption.
The group All Sato Rescue brought more than 200 dogs to New England. A private plane landed in Worcester, Mass. Wednesday night, and shelters selected among the dogs and cats to take home and help them find their forever homes.
The dogs were rescued after Hurricane Maria devastated the island.
About 60 of the pups are expected to arrive in Maine and will go to Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, Coastal Humane Society, Animal Welfare Society, Tall Tails Beagle Rescue, and Humane Society Waterville Area.
The Animal Refuge League says All Sato Rescue needs help to continue its rescue mission.
