Bridgton boy battling cancer has wish granted
BRIDGTON (WGME) -- A community comes together to help grant the wish of a 13-year-old Bridgton boy battling cancer.
Kyan MacDonald has a long fight ahead of him as he battles cancer, but he has a lot to smile about right now.
"Kyan's Cabin" was custom built for Kyan after he asked for a tiny house as his wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Maine.
His mom says they started watching nature shows while Kyan was in the hospital as a way to see beyond their four walls.
Then Kyan got hooked on a tiny house hunters show and decided it would be a dream come true to have one of his very own.
MacDonald says her son loves the outdoors, but is also very independent and solitary.
She says she's not surprised this cabin was his wish. She also calls him "wise beyond his years,"
Kyan's mom says he knows he'll likely have cancer the rest of his life, which is why he chose a tangible wish that would last as long, and the best part, his parents and sister are right next door.
