STATEWIDE (WGME) -- Roads are washed away in parts of western Maine from Wednesday's round of heavy downpours.

Much of Hall Hill Road has caved in. Nearby, the rain set off mudslides, flooding and erosion.

Neighbors say the wind came in hard in the afternoon and the rain was moving in every direction mixed with plenty of lightning.

One resident says he was told he wouldn't have power for at least a week. Late Wednesday night, more than 13,000 customers still had no electricity in Maine, mostly in Franklin, Piscataquis and Oxford Counties.

In Sebago, a tree fell on Route 114, forcing crews to close the road for almost four hours near the intersection with Anderson Road. The area reopened around 9 p.m.Roads in Rumford washed away from severe weather
