42nd Annual Bath Heritage Days
Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6 (All Day)

Heritage Days is a four-day festival celebrating the rich, exciting community of Bath, Maine. The events are held throughout the city’s downtown area, and including such activities as a crafts show, a chili chowder fest, and numerous outdoor concerts. Come discover for yourself why Bath, Maine is such a fantastic place.

18th Annual Liberty Festival
Friday, July 4 (5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.)

Back again for another bout of music and fireworks, the 18th Annual Liberty Festival promises to be bigger and better than last year’s. On-stage musicians will play songs from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s, in hopes of sparking a wave of nostalgia for the music of yesteryear. Topping off the event is a duel fireworks display, one happening in Great Falls Plaza, in Auburn, and the other at Veterans Park, in Lewiston.

Avner the Eccentric, in Exceptions to Gravity
Saturday, July 5 (8 p.m.)

Described by Roger Ebert as “a true comic discovery,” Avner the Eccentric is a renowned clown and performance artist, and his wordless solo act, Exceptions to Gravity, allows him to fully display his comedic talents. (In 2004, the show sold out the Theatre Fontaine in Paris for three months.) Appropriate for all ages!

LGBT: Lip Sync For Your Life
Sunday, July 6 (9:30 p.m.)

Finally! A contest for those who cannot sing. Come show off your lip sync talent and walk away with $100 in cash and prizes. Solo and group acts are welcome. Drag is not required for the contest, but feel free to rock out costumes. DJ Cherry Lemonade hosts the event.

Dog Days of Summer
Wednesday, July 9 (6:30 p.m.)

For one night, the Saco Drive-In is featuring two doggone good films, Marley & Me and Beethoven. The films run back to back, and 20 percent of ticket sales benefit local animal shelters Lucky Pup Rescue and Buddy Up Animal Society. There will also be a raffle for dog toys/products, with proceeds benefitting Pawsitive Paws Forever Rescue and Maine Lab Rescue. (You can bring your dog as long as s/he is on a leash and safely secured during the movies.)
