This annual musical tribute to family, friends, and frolic returns to Thomas Point for another four-day celebration of "the bluegrass way." From music to activities, dancing to workshops, food to vendors, it's all about showcasing the bluegrass lifestyle. Musical acts include Barefoot Movement, the Lonely Heartstring Band, the New England Bluegrass Band, and many more.

The Juke Joint Devils
Friday, August 29 (8 p.m.)

These musicians take you back to a time when small house bands played from the soul, on real instruments, could swing like crazy, and anything could happen on stage. The Juke Joint Devils play a mix of West Coast and Chicago Blues, with a bit of spice from New Orleans and elsewhere. The band features International Blues Challenge finalists Tommy O'Connell on harp and vocals and Sean Bowman on standup bass, Johnny Moran on drums, and with Stefan Iris on guitar.

4th Annual Portland Brew Festival
Friday, August 29 (5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.) to Saturday, August 30 (12:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.)

The fourth annual Portland Brew Festival is set for August 29 and 30, and event organizers promise a broad array of brewers, activities and exhibits, and tempting food offerings. The 2014 event, which returns to the Portland Company Complex at 58 Fore Street in Portland, will feature about 40 brewers with more than 120 brew products along with home brewing equipment, a Maine Brewers Guild fundraiser, and a special presentation by New England Real Ale eXhibition (NERAX), an event dedicated to cask ales.

Bingo! The Winning Musical
Friday, August 29 (7:30 p.m.), Saturday, August 30 (7:30 p.m.), and Sunday, August 31 (2 p.m.)

Bingo! is a splashy, zippy, fun new musical comedy about a group of die-hard bingo aficionados who'll let nothing get in the way of playing their weekly game. In between the number calling, strange rituals, and fierce competitions, love blossoms and long-lost friends reunite. Bingo! is an interactive musical comedy, and throughout the show the audience actually plays three games of Bingo with the cast - for real prizes.

Maine Seaweed Festival

The Maine Seaweed Festival aims to highlight the diverse uses and benefits of seaweed, while celebrating all of the dedicated harvesters, farmers, fishermen, and processors who continue to invest their efforts in creating a viable and vibrant seaweed industry here in Maine. Seaweed Fest will feature local artists, entertainment, and vendors who are using Maine seaweeds in their craft. There will also be live music, educational speakers, and activities for children of all ages.
