Good Day Café: Down East Magazine searches for "World's Best Lobster Roll"
PORTLAND (WGME) -- The search is on for the best lobster roll in the world.
Down East Magazine is hosting its first-ever lobster roll competition and festival on Saturday, July 8 at Thompson's Point in Portland from 12-5 p.m.
There are 12 semi-finalists, including Bite into Maine. Owner Sarah Sutton stopped by the Good Day Café to make their signature picnic-style lobster roll.
On July 8, 250 VIP guests will narrow the 12 semi-finalists down to three, then a panel of expert judges will choose a winner.
In addition to the lobster roll competition, the day will be filled with family-friendly events including live music from three bands, an interactive kid's area, Maine-made vendors, a touch tank from the Maine State Aquarium, and LifeFlight of Maine's "lobster chopper" will touch down at the festival so kids can tour it.
